Born in the Philippines, Janara moved to the US at the age of seven.  In 2008, she received her BA from Syracuse University with double minors in Art History and Fine Arts.  Her interest in residential work drew her to the Hamptons.  Janara joined the firm in 2010 after working on institutional projects for two years in Baltimore, Maryland.  Over the years with JMA, Janara found her natural strengths in project management, client relations, and construction administration.  But her passion and expertise lie in architectural interior and detailing. With these abilities, she became highly involved in projects with more complex design and administrative tasks, such as the Southampton House, Bridgehampton Beach House, and Jobs Lane.  She also supervises the marketing and sales department of JMA, as well as office administrative and human resources, alongside Corey Swinson.

Outside of architecture, she lives on Shelter Island with her husband, two beautiful kids, and a goofy golden retriever.  “One of the best parts of my day is riding the ferry to and from work.  It is so calming and meditative…a perfect transition from my slow-paced life on the island to the energized workspace that keeps me on my toes.  Wouldn’t have it any other way!”  She is also an enthusiastic boxer.  You can catch her at the local gym sparring in the ring or hitting the mitts.
